Attorney Florian Wiemann LL.M. Eur. specializes in questions in the fields of IT law and intellectual property. Many years of working for mid-sized and large companies in the IT sector allowed Mr. Wiemann to acquire a deep understanding of economic and technical matters.

Early in his career, Mr. Wiemann decided to specialize in IT law and new media law. Frequent advanced trainings and years of professional experience helped him to develop a high level of expertise in software, e-commerce and Internet related legal matters, as well as in the field of intellectual property, e.g. copyright, trademark or competition law.

After his law studies at Saarland University and the Université de Nantes in France (1995 – 2001), Mr. Wiemann successfully completed postgraduate studies in European law with a focus on European media, acquiring a Master of European Law (LL.M. Eur.) in 2003. In his Master’s thesis on online auctions under German and French law, he delivered an early description of the relatively new concept of e-commerce. He completed his practical legal training in 2005, when he graduated by the second state examination in Düsseldorf. In 2008 and 2009, Mr. Wiemann successfully completed his training as a specialist attorney for industrial property protection at Hagen Law School. After further specializing in IT law via a specialist attorney course at DeutscheAnwaltAkademie, he became a certified specialist attorney for IT law in 2015.

As a legal clerk, Mr. Wiemann gained practical experience from 2003–2005 in the legal department of an international electricity company group as well as well as in the IT law & intellectual property department of a mid-sized law firm. During the first four years of his professional practice (from 2005–2008), he worked as a contracts manager and in-house lawyer at Infor Global Solutions GmbH as well as an in-house lawyer at Essen-based secunet Security Networks AG. During this time, Mr. Wiemann gained extensive practical experience regarding international software manufacturers offering a wide range of products and services. Building on his acquired knowledge, he worked as an independent attorney in Düsseldorf from 2008-2011, among others as a freelancer for Keßler & Koch Rechtsanwälte. In 2011, Mr. Wiemann expanded his practice and founded WIEMANN Law Firm for IT law and intellectual property.
